Below, Startfinans describes how they collect and use information regarding visits to our websites. The Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) is the appeal body for errors in the processing of personal data. Privacy

When you register your personal data with us, you must be confident that we process these in a secure manner. We are responsible for ensuring that the information we have about you is safeguarded in accordance with data protection legislation (personvernlovgivningen).

Our goals regarding protection of personal data

All processing of personal data by Startfinans must be in accordance with current regulations. We shall not process personal data to a greater extent than is necessary to fulfill the purposes of Startfinans. When you, regardless of your connection to us, give us your personal data, your trust is essential. We must follow all the principles for processing personal data in the Personal Data Act:
Legality, fairness and transparency: We shall process personal data in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, so that information is protected and your rights with regard to access, correction and deletion are safeguarded. We stick to the legal purposes of the processing, and we inform about these.
Data minimization: We do not process more personal data than we need for the purposes.
Storage limitation: We only hold personal data for as long as we see necessary, and we do not share it with unauthorized parties. We document how different types of information can be processed, and we stick to this. Personal data must only be stored in our organization in ways that we have sufficient control over.
Integritet og konfidensialitet: When processing personal data, we focus on security. We assess the need for protection of all personal data we process. We work systematically with measures and improvements that protect personal data. We must control that personal data is correct and that only those who should have access to it get access.
The entire organization contributes to protecting personal data. We have many internal guidelines for processing personal data in administration, education, and research, but all follow these principles. We document all our processing of personal data, and we regularly assess whether the processing is still in line with our principles and with ethical considerations, good work ethics, and our duty of confidentiality.
We make employees familiar with these principles, and the employees take your privacy into account. The individual employee only has access to information that is necessary to carry out their work and processes all information in line with our principles and guidelines.

When do we process your personal data?

At Startfinans, personal data is processed for administrative, archive and accounting purposes. As a general rule, we process personal data about you who are:

Who get access to personal data?

We may share personal data or export data comprising personal data to other systems, when considered necessary. In some cases, we are also required by law to hand over personal data to several public bodies. How long do we keep personal information?

Generally, information will be deleted when we no longer have grounds for processing the personal information, unless there is a statutory duty to keep it longer, such as, for example, according to the Archives or Accounts Act. Automated treatments (automatiserte behandlinger)

In some cases, we process your personal data that is partially automatic or fully automated. Examples of such automated processing are the calculation of points for admission and the allocation of study places. Your rights

As a registered user, you have the right to know what personal data is registered about you at Startfinans and how this is processed. You also have the right to demand correction, deletion, limitation of the personal data and to object to the processing. How can you contribute?

You can also contribute to the protection of your personal data by avoiding sending sensitive information to us via e-mail or social media. This can be health information, social security numbers, PIN codes, one-time codes, passwords and bank and credit card numbers and the like. Instead, use a digital mailbox (Digipost or e-Boks) to send such information to us.

Like most other websites, Startfinans uses tracking codes (trackers) and cookies. Cookies are small information files that are left on your computer used for our websites to work as well as possible. First-party cookies are necessary for the website to function. Third-party cookies are used for analysis, marketing, and personalization (GDPR art. 6 no. 1 letter f).

BNI_STARTFINANSLBS: When you try to reach our website with your browser, you first come to a load balancer (Barracuda Load Balancer) which places a cookie on the outgoing response. This cookie is sent every time you navigate on our website. How can you avoid Cookies

If you wish to avoid the use of cookies, you can set your browser not to accept them. See your browser's help pages for settings. Please note that if you choose to exclude cookies, you may have problems getting content up on the website. This applies in particular to the cookies that come from our publishing solution CorePublish and are described in the table above.

Analysis – Visit and search the websites

As part of our work to create the best possible website, we use several analysis tools (GDPR art. 6 no. 1 letter f). Searches on our websites and page visits are logged by:

News letter

It is possible to subscribe to newsletters from our website. To send e-mail to the right person, we need to register your name and e-mail address. This information is not shared with other businesses and is deleted when we are notified that you no longer wish to receive information from us. The information is also deleted if we receive feedback that the e-mail address is no longer active. We use Mailchimp for sending newsletters.

Sharing

We have share-icons for distributing links to Facebook and Twitter. Information about suggestions will not be registered and is only used occasionally to enter the suggestion in the online community. You must expect that these online communities log information about your use. They have processing responsibility for their own business. See their privacy statements.

Registration forms

When you register for courses and events, we may ask you for information such as name, organization, address, e-mail, invoice references and the like (GDPR art. 6 no. 1 letter c). This information is not shared with others and is deleted when we no longer need the data.

Embedding content from other websites

On various pages, we build content that we have published on other platforms. This could be, for example:

No separate deletion routines have been established for cases that are stored in our system for handling inquiries, Pureservice. If you believe that the processing violates your privacy, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority. Feel free to ask our data protection representative about this.

You can also contact us if you have questions about privacy in the processing. The legal basis for the processing is the public interest. The information about you is all the information you provide about yourself in your application, CV and any attachments that are uploaded.
When applying for positions, an expert committee is appointed to assess the applicants' competence for the individual position, cf. Startfinans' guidelines for employment. The information is not stored for a longer period than two years. You have the right to ask us to inspect the information and correct any errors, or possibly delete personal data or limit the processing that applies to you, or to object to the processing.
